Bhuv was founded by Karen Ayuba, a Nigerian designer with a love for structure, femininity, and intention. She studied building engineering in school, which gave her a deep understanding of form, structure, and precision—skills that now shape every garment she creates. Karen began her career as a personal assistant to a designer, then managed fashion houses in Abuja and Lagos, learning the rhythms of a brand and the art of fit and detail. These early experiences laid the foundation for her own creative practice. When she started making custom designs in Lagos, Karen approached each piece as an exploration of movement, form, and personal expression. What began as a small, intimate practice evolved into a ready-to-wear collection that balances heritage, craftsmanship, and contemporary sophistication.

In 2024, after completing business school, Karen refined Bhuv’s direction, shaping it as a premium fashion house guided by intention, originality, and elevated craftsmanship. Each garment blends African heritage with modern sensibilities, designed to move with the wearer and celebrate femininity in a timeless, personal way. Through her leadership, Bhuv bridges tradition and modernity.
